Brown is a versatile player who started his career playing left guard but has now moved to center. He has seen action in two AFC playoff games, and during the 2008 playoffs he opened holes that contributed to the Ravens second highest rushing yard total in history. Brown was one of only two linemen playing for the Baltimore Ravens who started in all 16 games of the 2008 season.
He was a three-year starter at center for the Tar Heels after switching from tackle before his sophomore year. Brown started 36 consecutive games at center, earning him first-team All-America honors from The NFL Draft Report as a senior. He also earned first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors in 2004.
Brown was a two-time North Conference 2-A Lineman of the Year at Northern Vance High in Henderson, NC. He helped his team rush for more than 3,000 yards during his junior and senior seasons. Jason is married to Tay and has a son, JW, Jr.
