Lardarius Webb was selected in the 3rd round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
“In Lardarius Webb, we got a young man that can help us on the defensive side of the ball and also help us with special teams because, he’s also a returner,” said general manager/executive vice president Ozzie Newsome of the Baltimore Ravens.
He is a two-time Div. I-AA All-American choice by the Associated Press, Sports Network, the Walter Camp Foundation as a junior and AFCA as a senior. Webb was also an All-Southland Conference honoree at defensive back and returner as a senior, and a 2-time College Sporting News Fabulous Fifty selection. He transferred to Nicholls State from Southern Mississippi after his sophomore season and recorded a total of 179 tackles (144 solo) during his college career.
Webb played both QB and DB at Beauregard (Opelika, AL) High School. He earned 1st-team All-State honors as a junior and senior. He also was named team MVP and was selected to play in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game. As a senior he rushed for 738 yards with 15 rushing TDs and passed for 412 yards with 4 TDs.
