Pro Career:

Weaver has proven to be a versatile fullback and a big-play threat out of the backfield. During 2008 he became the first fullback since 1970 and one of five running backs to have two receiving touchdowns of 43 or more yards in the same game. Also during 2008 he was named a Pro Bowl alternate after registering 222 receiving yards.

College Career:

He entered Carson-Newman as a linebacker before moving to tight end during 2002. Weaver led his team in receiving, as a tight end with 27 catches for 571 yards, and a team high eight touchdowns. During his senior year he lead the Eagles to a 9-3 record, a South Atlantic conference championship, and into the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. He was also named a division II All-American by the AP, the American Football Coaches Association, and Football Gazette. He received his degree in business administration.

Personal:

Weaver is married to wife, Senetra, and has three sons. He has become an ordained minister, and hopes to start a church of his own someday. Due to his grandmother’s death to diabetes, he has started the Leonard Weaver Family Foundation to help spread knowledge about the disease. He also has helped host the annual “Summer Bash” in the inner city of Seattle, which was a free picnic for families.
