Pro Career:
Quincy Black is an exceptional athlete who has excelled on special teams in his first two campaigns, while serving as a capable reserve for a talented and veteran linebacking corps. He has appeared in one playoff contest, and led Tampa Bay with a career-high 24 special teams tackles in 2008.
College Career:
He played linebacker at New Mexico after beginning his career as a defensive end at Harper College. Black earned first-team all-Mountain West Conference and honorable mention All-America honors (CollegeFootballNews.com) as a senior in 2006. His 138 yards on interception returns and 114 tackles in 2006 were the most in a season by a New Mexico player in one season. Quincy graduated in with a degree in University Studies.
Personal:
Black earned All-Public League honors as a senior at Kenwood (Chicago, IL) High School. He enjoys reading novels and doing volunteer work. As a member of the 2007 Buccaneers Rookie Club, he joined underprivileged children on a bowling outing, coached local youth at the Rookie Club Football Camp, and visited patients at All Children’s Hospital during Christmas time. He also has hosted youth from the local Boys and Girls Clubs and MacDill Airforce base at the first ever Buccaneer Rookies Club Football Camp.
