Pro Career:
Dobbins is a fearless competitor who has been a standout on special teams. In 2008 he had his first career interception. Also during 2008 he had game saving sack late in the fourth quarter of the Chargers’ AFC Wild Card Playoff against the Indianapolis Colts. The sack allowed the Chargers to drive for the game tying field goal, and eventually led them on to win the game, 23-17.
College Career:
Dobbins got his start at Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in Mississippi. He finished his junior career there with 210 tackles and 13 sacks. Tim went on to play for Iowa State during his senior year. He received many honors including Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2004. He majored in sociology.
Personal:
He was an all-state linebacker at Glencliff HS and was selected to play in 2002 Tennessee-Kentucky All-Star Game in Knoxville. He is now married to Amanda, and has two daughters, Anna and Timera. Off the field, Dobbins’ enjoys working out, bowling, golf, pool, skydiving, watching movies, white-water rafting and riding dirt bikes.
